Ian and Isobel, owners of Allt Beag Cottage, live in the bungalow at the foot of the driveway. They are on hand to help if you have any problems. |

No - the price you pay is fully inclusive of heating, electricity, bedding and towels. You will need to bring your own food, or buy it locally. |

There is a supermarket, garage and other shops in Broadford, 3 miles. |
| Where is the nearest pub? |
In Scotland, English-style pubs are rare. However most hotels have a bar open to non-residents. There are sevaral hotels with bars in Broadford, 3 miles. |
| Do I need to obtain Scottish bank notes before my visit? |
No - English bank notes are legal tender and are accepted by all retail outlets on the Isle of Skye. |
| What will the weather be like? |
Variable! At all times of the year, you might need a waterproof coat and a warm jumper. Bring 'layers' - you can always strip down to a tee shirt when it gets hot! |
| Does everything close on Sundays? |
Some small shops and businesses may be closed on Sundays, but larger shops and tourist attractions will be open. |
| Are tourist attractions open all year? |
Many businesses close for the winter, or have restricted opening hours. If you want to see something specific, best to check opening times before your visit. |
| What do I need to know about midges? |
Midges are tiny flies which can leave an irritating bite. They are most active on still mornings and evenings between late May and September. Effective insect repellents containing DEET are available in chemists shops and locally. |
| When is the best time to visit Skye? |
Any time! Winter days are short and can be wet and cold, though there will be sparkling clear days when the snow glistens white on the Cuillin. Summers are warmer, but some rain is still likely, the midges will be about, and the roads are busier. May tends to be the first month to become fully booked. |
